Does Cinnamon Help To Lower Cholesterol?
In a joint Pakistani-American study it was found that cinnamon reduced both blood glucose levels and blood lipid levels.
Researchers recorded a reduction of 12 - 26% in total blood cholesterol levels whilst LDL ("bad") cholesterol fell by 7 - 27%.
HDL ("good") cholesterol leveles were unaffected.
The dosage required for best effect is between 3g and 6 g a day - which should be relatively easy to achieve.
Cinnamon can simply be sprinkled onto any baked product - or even breakfast cereal. It can also be taken mixed with honey and tea. Try the suggestion below and see if you like it:
Add two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of cinnamon powder into a large mug of tea. Take this three times a day - it could reduce your cholesterol level by up to 10%.
